Reframing Limiting Beliefs
How do limiting beliefs impact our lives?
• Our mind believes whatever we tell it
• It gives us an excuse to stay stuck where we currently are
o We do not make changes because “this is how I have always been”
• It is nearly impossible to accomplish something if you can’t imagine it
• If you believe in the Law of Attraction you know when you think negative thoughts you draw negative experiences
• If you are unsure of yourself everyone else will be too
Let’s go into some common examples and how we can reframe them. If you have certain limiting beliefs and need help reframing them comment, or contact me, and I will help you work through it.
I can’t get up early – I’ve always overslept
o I have so much to share with the world. I choose to make my time a priority by going to bed 10 minutes earlier and getting up 10 minutes earlier.
o The key when you want to change a habit is to break it into easy actionable steps.
It’s so hard to get sales- the market is so saturated.
o People love our products, so many people want them. There is something about me that is different and attracts customers to me.
I don’t have the same audience as Susie Influencer, so I can’t compete and get any sales.
o I can take steps every day to grow my audience. In the meantime, I can value the people I already have in my corner and keep loving on them.
I’m not an expert
o I am in expert in … there is something that we are all in expert in. No one is an expert in everything. Find your superpower and share it with the world!
I didn’t work hard enough on this.
o Do any of you ever feel like you must put in a certain level of work in order for people to value what you’re doing?
o Guess what - no one knows how much work you put in besides you. They do not care if your look took 2 minutes if you have been with the company for 2 days. People only see the end result.
o My work is valued by many.
Nobody cares what I have to say.
o There is someone who not only cares but NEEDS to hear your message.
I am good at starting projects but not at finishing them
o I am capable of finishing whatever my heart desires. I will tackle one project at a time and create small action steps to make it feel more doable.
I don’t deserve (money, recognition, success)
o Okay, so this one is usually deep seeded. More than I can address in a couple minutes. But there is one thing I know if a desire is on your heart it is for a reason. The universe (God, source, whatever) doesn’t give you desires that you cannot achieve. Your past does not matter and does not define you.
Other people are better at this than me.
o I am unique. I have something to offer that no one else does. Everyone starts at the same exact place.
People will judge me.
o Judgy people will judge you no matter what. That is about them and not about me. You need to focus on what you want.
o I am secure in my vision and will not be distracted by other people’s opinions.
The people who are successful are out of my league
o People who are successful believe in themselves enough to try
o Be honest have you ever fully believe in yourself?
o The only difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is successful people gave THEMSELVES permission to be successful. Do you see that – they are not waiting for anyone to give them permission. They are claiming it for themselves.
o Once you say I can do this & you can imagine your dream then you can start taking action steps to get there.
Pay attention to your thoughts. You will never be free from negative thoughts or limiting beliefs, but you can address them along the way. When I first got into Law of Attraction I thought I couldn’t think negative thoughts and this super stressed me out. Now I know how to address them.
Here’s a simple trick. If you find yourself thinking a negative thought or limiting belief write it down. Try to reframe it. Think of what you would tell your best friend if she told you the same thing. If you can’t do it on your own ask for help.
