Level Up
Hey Queens! Welcome back to another episode of Captivation Radio! You know I am always talking about leveling up – what happens when you are leveling up, what you need to do each time you reach a new level, all the things. Today, I am talking about what it means to level up and what you need to do at your new level.
What does leveling up mean?
Leveling up means to increase your performance or take it to the next level. You can level up in one category or completely level up your life. It is the time when you change when the way things were no longer serves you. You become more aware of the things around you. You are receiving more success.
New Level New Boundaries
When you reach a new level, chances are your old boundaries are no longer going to serve you. New levels come with additional responsibilities and that requires us to re-evaluate our boundaries. You will not have the same amount of time available to spend on doing frivolous activities when you first begin to level up. If you are a service provider, you will have less time to spend answering messages and taking last second phone calls when your number of clients increases. If you have a product-based business, you will have less time to spend having one on one conversations about your products or with other business owners. Eventually, you will be able to get a team and have more time for interactions, but you also have to remember to spend your time on activities that benefit you. That doesn’t just mean financial benefits – I am talking about any positive benefits like connections, fun, growth, and of course financial.
Relationships
“Some people were not meant to come on the next part of your journey with you.” I’m sure you have heard some form of that statement before. Usually, it is said as a comforting statement after a friendship has been lost because one party’s elevation. It can tend to sound kind of empty, but it is a true statement. Not everyone can go with you. Once you excel to a certain level it is going to be hard to be around people who are not working on themselves. The conversations begin to feel different; it becomes harder to relate. Some friendships end quietly, and some are going to be much more dramatic. Some people will not be ok with your growth, like we talked about on the Frenemy episode. These people will hate on you to anyone who will listen and try to drag you back down to their level.
This is why it is important to check-in and see who is really on your side and who is just there because they always have been. You are not obligated to hold onto relationships you have outgrown. Undoubtedly, if you do you will eventually find yourself in a position in which you are forced to decide if this person can remain in your life.
Self-care Rituals
As you level up, you need to evaluate how you care for yourself. The higher you expect yourself to perform the more you will have to make time to care for yourself. You need to have a fitness routine, good nutrition, a mindset practice like journaling, a spiritual practice, time for work, time for fun. It can be a lot to balance, but it is important that you are physically, mentally, and spiritually well if you want to stay at the level, you are at.
Evaluation of Routines & Time Management, Creating Systems
If your new level came with new tasks and responsibilities, then it is important to re-evaluate your schedule and how you are managing your time. This is why it is so important to create systems early on in your business. Just imagine, you suddenly have 6 new clients and you’re trying to get everything for them going at once. Is this a good time to create workflows and other systems? Probably not. It is important to plan for success and create everything you will need one day while things are still slow. Then as you level up all you have to do is tweak your systems.
New Money Mindset Work
Every time you begin to make more money you have to do more money mindset work. Some people have a hard time seeking success because of their own issues with money. Just like we need systems in place to deal with clients, we also need systems to deal with our money. Set up your business bank account even if you have only made $5. Track your sales - even if there are only three sales a month. Trust me, you don’t want to have to go back and figure it all out once you get busy.
Remember that we should always be ready for all of the blessings the Universe is ready to give us. Preparing shows were are ready!
